That guy from the treatment center is so ignorant, marijuana does create long term psychological problems. Addicts use any substance first of all to keep from feeling. It's not a gateway drug unless you can only buy from a dealer that suggest trying something new because you are already numbing your feelings. If you go to a legal dispensary to get it or even your local 7 eleven do you think someone there behind the counter is going to suggest trying heroin because you already smoke pot. REALLY? Medical marijuana is a must have for a lot of people but some of us can't get it because of where we live. As long as Monsanto doesn't poison the supply chain, I say legalize it. I would rather encounter a stoned driver over a drunk driver any day of the week!
